Books for Kids with Autism and Related Conditions

Being a teenager is tough, isn’t it? Hormones are raging, bodies are changing, and talking about it all openly is uncomfortable both for a teen and their parents.
We are happy to share that we took part in an amazing project launched by Ekaterina Denisova and Posmotri Na Menya Foundation! For the project, Tillanelli has created illustrations and the designs for the books written by adolescent-focused psychologist Elena Lobacheva.

The books are written in a positive and simple language and provide a perfect opportunity to ease the puberty talk with boys and girls with autism. There are no books like that in Russian yet, but we hope more books like these will be published over time!
Two books and two main characters, Max and Tonya, are going through different puberty stages. The kids in the books aren’t facing them alone. There are inspiring parenting examples by their sides. The books are a great source of information on all the puberty changes that boys and girls with autism may experience, both emotionally and physically.
Some things a teen girl needs to know to make informed decisions about her menstrual cycle.
Some things a teen boy needs to know about changes he will experience.
While working on the project, we tried to keep it simple, modern and focused on real life. Growing up can be scary, but not so much when you are informed, loved, and supported by your parents and friends.
Thank you!
